English Storytelling Competition Rules
Registration Requirements:
- To register, please fill in the form at bit.ly/registrationstorytellingpd
- Each school is allowed to send maximum 2 students.
- Submit a copy of the student’s ID card in the registration form. If no ID card is available, a reference letter from the school can be used.
- Each participant selects one story from the provided list for both the preliminary and final rounds.
- Changes to participants’ entries are allowed until the registration closing date. Schools must update all documents for the new entries.
- If any participant data changes, the committee must be notified immediately, with updated information submitted no later than the technical meeting.
Competitor Regulations:
- The competition is open to Junior High School students.
- Participants must register in accordance with the provided requirements and deadlines.
- Changes in participant entries are allowed only up to the registration closing date.
- Failure to participate on competition day will result in withdrawal from the competition, and the registration fee will not be refunded.
Competition Regulations:
- The competition has two rounds: preliminary and final.
- The preliminary round is conducted in video format. Videos must be submitted by the deadline.
- The top 15 participants from the preliminary round will proceed to the final round.
- The final round is an in-person performance using the same story as the preliminary round.
- Each performance (video and in-person) is limited to 7 minutes.
- Costumes and props are advised to enhance the storytelling experience.
- All regulations must be followed. Violations may result in penalties or disqualification.
- The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Regulations for Preliminary Round and Final Round
Preliminary Round (Video Submission)
- Story Selection
- Participants must select a story from the list provided by the committee during registration.
- Video Format and Submission
- The video must be in landscape mode with clear audio and video quality.
- The storytelling performance must not exceed 7 minutes.
- Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and use props to enhance their performance.
- The video must be submitted in one of the following formats: MP4, AVI, or MOV.
- Deadline
- Videos must be submitted by the deadline specified by the committee. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Judging and Results
- Videos will be judged based on the same scoring criteria as the final round.
- The top 15 participants with the highest scores will proceed to the final round.
- Declaration of Results
- The results will be announced via email and on the official competition website/social media channels.
Final Round (In-Person Performance)
- Re-Registration and Attendance
- Finalists must re-register at the venue on the day of the competition during the allotted time.
- Participants who fail to re-register will be considered absent and disqualified.
- Performance Time
- Each participant will have 7 minutes to perform their story in front of the judges.
- Costumes and Props
- Participants are required to use the same costumes and props reported during re-registration.
- Unreported changes or additions to costumes and props will result in a penalty.
- Order of Performance
- Finalists’ order performance will be announced with the preliminary round result.
- Judging Criteria
- The same scoring criteria will be applied:
- Content (40%)
- Vocabulary (15%)
- Plot Preservation (25%)
- Performance (60%)
- Creativity (30%)
- Pronunciation (15%)
- Punctuality of time (15%)

- Venue Rules
- Competitors must remain in the venue until the end of the competition unless granted permission by the committee.
- Mobile phones must be on silent mode during the competition.
- Supporters’ Conduct
- Supporters must follow venue rules and avoid disrupting any performance.
- Disruptive behavior will result in removal from the venue.
- Judges’ Decisions
- The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
General Notes for Both Rounds
- Timekeeping: The performance will be timed strictly, with penalties for exceeding the allotted time.
- Safety: No dangerous or harmful props or actions are allowed.
- Disqualification: Participants failing to comply with the regulations or exhibiting inappropriate behavior will be disqualified.

Competition Method:
- Preliminary Round:
- Participants submit a 7-minute video of their story performance.
- Judges will evaluate the videos, and the best 15 participants will advance to the final round.
- Final Round:
- Participants perform the same story in person in front of the judges.
- Performances are evaluated based on the same criteria.

- Each participating school must send a representative. Schools unable to attend will receive technical documents via email.
